Travels to the Sea - a resounding success!
SUNDAY 21ST NOVEMBER, 2021
Sarah Ogden, Thom Meredith and Chris Pulleyn enjoyed rapturous applause to their first recital after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Thom sang Songs of Travel (Ralph Vaughan-Williams) and his impressive baritone sound filled St Paul's Church effortlessly. Yet his more tender moments moved the audience to tears with their soft sincerity.
Next came Sea Pictures (Edward Elgar) performed by Sarah and Chris, who's powerful piano playing conjured up images of the sea. With clarity of diction and a deep connection to the poems, Sarah's warm, mezzo sound washed over the audience like the sea over a sandy beach taking them away to places far and wide.
As with all &Piano events, the performers took the opportunity to speak to the audience about the songs and poems performed which was very inciteful and enjoyable.
Travels to the Sea

Sarah Ogden and Thom Meredith join forces with Chris Pulleyn for this fringe event for the &Piano Music Festival. They will perform two of the most loved (and most beautiful) song cycles in the English Song repertoire.
This event will last approximately 1 hour and refreshments will be served afterwards.
